Although the demise of CRM as a market category has been endlessly predicted, CRM hasn't gone away. The reason: CRM evolves. Four examples: 1. Users can now display and manipulate real-time data — typically via dashboards. 2. There's CRM for mid-sized businesses, the newest market entry being Metadot. 3. Vendors are more flexible, no longer demanding all-at-once deployments. 4. Most importantly, customer touch points keep proliferating, and CRM is needed to integrate information from all of them.
