First up in the cloud: E-mail

When it comes to cloud services, survey results showed people are more interested in e-mail than other processes. Approximately 50 percent of the companies using, currently evaluating, or planning to deploy cloud services have or are considering e-mail.

However, truly widespread adoption is still likely to be years rather than months away, with enterprises waiting for e-mail offerings to mature.

Each year, attendees of The Experts Conference (TEC), sponsored by Quest Software, are surveyed on technology trends, best practices, current issues and priorities, and TEC 2010 – the ninth annual event in the series – was no different. Quest experts Gil Kirkpatrick, chief architect, David Sengupta, chief architect and Microsoft Exchange Server MVP, and Dmitry Sotnikov, director of cloud solutions, analyzed the survey results to cull key predictions and trends for the coming year.
