Don't Tell Your Boss Just Yet

If you're serious about finding a new job in 2015, it's a good idea to keep your job search on the down-low. Searching for a new job while you're currently employed is risky business, however, it's essential if you want to create new opportunities for yourself.

As you search for new jobs, avoid talking about your job search on social media and sharing the news with coworkers. Depending on how understanding your boss is, it's a good idea to keep your job search quiet until you've secured several job interviews. Although most bosses are understanding, there are those who could fire you before you find a new job. This is why it's important to have something lined up before you decide to give your boss a two-week notice.

The job market in 2015 is steadily improving and finally swinging back in favor of employees who are interested in looking to advance. Not only is 2015 the year to find a new job, but it's also a great year to earn a higher salary. Research also shows that people who leave their current jobs for a new position are more likely to earn more than those who stay in their current position.

With improving prospects for job openings and salaries, it's important for job seekers to focus on ways they can market themselves for highly sought after positions. Heather Huhman, writing for Glassdoor, has identified five tips for people looking to change jobs in 2015. Finding a new job in 2015 is going to be a goal for many professionals.
