NEC Recalls Defective Computers
NEC has issued a voluntary recall for its Lavie and VersaPro laptops manufactured between 2003 and 2006. The machines' wiring was installed too close to the main part of the computer and could emit smoke and a smell resembling melting plastic. NEC is offering to fix the machines free of charge.
