As application environments become more complex, IT organizations are dealing with more diversity in code bases than ever.
To help simplify the management of these diverse environments, Codice today announced that its software configuration management tool is now integrated with both Eclipse and Visual Studio environments.
According to Codice CEO Pablo Santos, IT organizations need a common approach to software configuration and version control management. Plastic SCM provides a framework for solving that problem by eliminating the need to have separate tools for managing software development in each environment.
Santos says the Plastic SCM approach gives development organizations a more sophisticated approach to managing the overall process in a much more cohesive manner.
In addition to announcing support for multiple environments, Codice released a Community Edition of Plastic SCM that allows IT organizations to try out Plastic SCM on their own terms for free, said Santos.
