The City and County of San Francisco Committee on Information Technology (COIT) uses this policy to inform users, staff and managers of their responsibilities, obligations and requirements to protect information technology and assets.

This policy requires departments to create an IT security working group, adopt a security policy framework, develop a risk assessment policy and identify security budget guidelines.
