The Senior Systems Engineer is primarily responsible for computer performance measurement, analysis and tuning in a data center environment. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Configuring, administering, monitoring, debugging and tuning IBM's WebSphere Application Server (WAS) v6.1 under z/OS, clustered across several LPARs in a Parallel Sysplex platform
  • Analyzing applications and code and making performance tuning recommendations to developers
  • Using the Pattern Modeling & Analysis Tool for Java Garbage Collector, system-generated Java and heap dumps and other garbage collector tools for optimization analysis and troubleshooting
