IT Skill Set Inventory

Created on: Oct 19, 2009 9:00 AM by Info-TechResearchGroup - Last Modified:  Oct 19, 2009 9:01 AM by Info-TechResearchGroup

If you only have a few staff, a narrow required skill set, or just need an easy way to quickly document the existing skill sets in your department, then this IT Skill Set Inventory offers a simple format for a low-effort approach to this task.

Use the table on the "Skills Table" tab to document the main skills of each member of the IT team. Once documented, look for areas where skills are missing or do not meet required levels of expertise. Depending on the size and diversity of the department, you may want to subdivide your skills inventory, creating separate tables for tech support, application development, network management, and so on. Add or delete rows or columns to match the number of staff/skills being mapped.
