0

Created on: Jun 11, 2009 10:04 AM by Patrick Avery - Last Modified:  Jun 11, 2009 10:05 AM by Patrick Avery

CMMI is a well-known and standardized model for assessing and improving software and systems development processes. It can be used to guide process improvement across a project, a division, or an entire organization. CMMI was developed at the Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute (SEI). The current version, 1.2, was published in 2006 and is being adopted worldwide.

The book “CMMI: Improving Software and Systems Development Processes Using Capability Maturity Model Integration” provides hands-on experience and will help readers gain an understanding of CMMI. Through numerous examples, it helps the reader to get started with CMMI and to understand the interrelationship among model components (practices, goals, and process areas).

The book, authored by Dr. Ralf Kneuper, is excerpted in the accompanying zip file. The excerpt contains the entire Chapter 2 entitled “Development of CMMI,” and part of Chapter 3 entitled “Structure and Variants of CMMI.”

The attached Zip file includes:
