Yahoo Revamps Search

Susan Hall

Yahoo has retooled its search function, adding suggestions to help users find what they need faster, and playing catch-up with Google, Microsoft and to bring more links to photos, videos and music to the results page, reports Times Online.

Though the competitors already offer those functions, Yahoo does it well, according to ZDNet blogger Larry Dignan.

Yahoo cited Harris Interactive research that only 15 percent of Web users find what they're looking for with their first search. It said in its Yahoo Search blog:

One thing we've learned . . . is that at the end of the day, people really don't want to search; they want to get things done. Today, we're launching an all new Yahoo! Search experience that gets users the answers they're looking for quickly and easily, and often in one search.
