Windows Live Glitch Fixed

Microsoft has fixed a glitch that prevented users of its Windows Live services from logging in for much of the day Tuesday, reports Seattle Post-Intelligencer blogger Todd Bishop.

Though the problem was initially reported as global, the company says it affected only about 30 percent of log-in attempts. It has not explained the cause, however.

Though running on Windows Server 2008, being launched Wednesday, a spokesman said the glitch was not related to the new software, according to ZDNet blogger Ina Fried, who reported a glitch with Yahoo e-mail as well.
