Via's Nano Trounces Intel's Atom

Kara Reeder

Performance reviews of Via Technologies' Nano processor and Intel's Atom chip put Via on top, according to InfoWorld.

Reviewers, like Ryan Shrout of PC Perspective, say Via's new processor has more processing power than Atom, as well as a much more open platform design. HotHardware offers a head-to-head comparison of the Via Nano L2100 and the Intel Atom 230 that agrees the reviewers.

This certainly doesn't bode well for Intel, which already has a long-standing battle with rival AMD. Will Intel have to add Atom to its recent processor price cuts?
