SAP Adding BI to All-in-One

Posted by Susan Hall Mar 5, 2009 9:14:06 AM

SAP is incorporated preconfigured business intelligence software from its acquisition last year of Business Objects into its All-in-One ERP product for the midmarket, reports InfoWorld.

It also plans to offer data migration tools to ease the transition to All-in-One, reports Manufacturing Executive.

The new features will be available later this year in the United States, Brazil and Germany, with other countries to follow.

Though BI and ERP have been merging for some time, Infoworld quotes Rebecca Wettemann of Nucleus Research saying the new BI features must

"be thought about really carefully from an architectural standpoint to make sure it's adding a real benefit for customers. Is this a net benefit or is it adding another layer of complexity to the [ERP] application?"
