Report: China Offers $9.4 Billion Market for Enterprise Software

Posted by Susan Hall Aug 27, 2009 11:58:07 AM

Spending on enterprise software in China will achieve a compound annual growth rate of 18 percent to reach US$9.4 billion by 2012, reports Network World.

Those estimates come from Springboard Research. The market is growing beyond local offices of foreign companies and internationally focused Chinese companies with banking and state-owned enterprises leading the way, according to ZDNet.

The reports says software-as-a-service and adoption of open source software are growing rapidly, while a cultural acceptance of piracy plays into the mix.
