Progress Software Acquires Savvion

Enterprise vendor Progress Software has announced the acquisition of business process management company Savvion for about $49 million in cash, reports VatorNews.

 

At ZDNet, writer Tony Baer says that deal, along with IBM's purchase of Lombardi, that the days are numbered for BPM pure plays.

 

In December, IT Business Edge's Dennis Byron posed the question of whether it's better to get your BPM technology a la carte or from your stack supplier.
