Potty-Mouthed Live Messenger Santa Disabled

Susan Hall

Microsoft has pulled the plug on an artificial-intelligence Santa bot in its Windows Live Messenger because it seems it had a potty mouth.

The Register reported the problems were first noticed in its conversation with two girls about eating pizza. Once word broke about it, a flood of users tried to make it talk dirty, according to Computerworld.

Microsoft initially tried to remove language from its automated script, but dissatisfied with the result, just decided to disable it.
