Pegasystems to Buy Chordiant Software

Pegasystems has announced the acquisition of Chordiant Software for $161.5 million, reports The Boston Globe.


Writing on ZDNet, Ovum senior analyst Tony Baer says at first the deal looks like yin and yan. Pegasystems offers templates for managing business processes while Chordiant's software is for managing customer experience. The potential synergy could come from Chordiant optimizing the front office and Pegasystems managing the back office. But he warns of potential integration difficulties.
