Patch Tuesday Will Resolve DNS Flaw

Michael Lindenberger

Tuesday's scheduled patch release from Microsoft will include a fix for a DNS vulnerability that has been broadly discussed since it was first publicized in April.

Windows Certified Professional Magazine reports today that Redmond's security team confirms the inclusion of patches for all versions of Windows Server 2000 and Windows Server 2003.

A post at the MS security team's blog a week ago said no new attacks against the DNS vulnerability had surfaced, and that status is confirmed in a post from yesterday.

All in all, Patch Tuesday is expected to include seven "critical" patches for pretty much the full gamut of MS products.
