Oracle Pulls Bid for BEA

Oracle on Sunday pulled its $6.7 billion buyout bid for BEA Systems, which isn't surprising since the middleware maker said Friday it would refuse the $17-a-share offer.

 

News.com reports Oracle told BEA it should not assume Oracle will come back with its $17-a-share offer later. And it reports major BEA shareholder Carl Ichan has been gearing up for a potential standoff with the company.
