Nvidia Halts Intel Chipset Development

Ainsley Jones

Due to its ongoing licensing litigation with Intel, Nvidia will cease developing chipsets for Intel CPUs. Nvidia's Intel chipset ban is expected to last until the matter is settled in court, reports Register Hardware.

Intel claims Nvidia is not licensed to use the new DMI bus. As a result, Nvidia has decided to halt its development until Intel's "unfair business tactics" cease or the matter is cleared up in court. Nvidia has also decided to freeze its nForce platform for AMD systems, even though they are not affected by the lawsuit, according to Electronista.
