Nokia Acquires Social Travel Site Dopplr

Nokia is buying UK social travel site Dopplr for a price reported to be between 10 million and 15 million euros (US$15 million to $22 million), reports TechCrunch.

Dopplr, based in London and Helsinki, allows frequent travelers to keep tabs on their travel plans, as well as those of others. It's a crowded field, according to Venture Beat, with competitors such as TripIt, TravelMuse and TripMate.

Nokia has been snatching up small companies this year, including Plum, Bit-Side and Cellity.
