Mac Sales Outstripped PCs

Posted by Kara Reeder Jul 2, 2009 10:52:55 AM

Morgan Stanley financial analyst Kathryn Huberty has raised her forecast for Mac sales in the second quarter, citing an increase in Apple shipments.

According to InformationWeek, even before Apple refreshed its MacBook Pros last month, Mac shipments increased 25 percent month-to-month in May. The PC market only saw a 1 percent growth. Huberty's revised projection shows a quarter-to-quarter growth rate of 12 percent for Mac shipments.

In related news, the MacObserver reports that Apple will be hosting its third-quarter earnings conference call on Tuesday, July 21.
