HP Opens Source for File System

Hewlett-Packard announced Monday it is making its Tru64 Unix Advanced File System available under the open-source General Public License, version 2.

 

The license will make it compatible with the Linux kernel and improve performance and uptime of those systems, reports News.com.

 

The company says the file system simplifies file and storage management, improving availability of data. It also allows online system backup, according to LinuxInsider.
