Facebook Updates Privacy Policy

Posted by Kara Reeder Oct 30, 2009 12:36:07 PM

In response to concerns raised by Canadian privacy officials, Facebook has revamped its privacy policy. According to PC Magazine, the updated version spells out privacy rules in a "clearer and more comprehensive" manner.

In a blog post, Facebook says:

In this revision, we're fulfilling our commitment to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada to update our privacy policy to better describe a number of practices.

Specifically, the updated version better clarifies how to make content viewable by everyone, the difference between deactivating and deleting an account, and details on its advertising network, among other things.
