EMC Takes Control of Data Domain

EMC said Monday it has taken a majority stake in Data Domain after NetApp's offer fell through, according to an Associated Press story in The Boston Globe. It said it now controls 82.1 percent of Data Domain shares.


EMC said Data Domain CEO Frank Slootman will lead a division focused on the latest disk-based backup, recovery and archive products, ZDNet reports. It also said it plans to build complementary technologies around that division.
