The Business Impact of Big Data

Cray Inc., a supercomputing company based in Seattle, Wash., has created a new division that will be focused on the Big Data market.


Called "YarcData," the new division will expand on Cray's Knowledge Management practice, but will provide "differentiated, business-focused and cost-effective Big Data solutions for enterprises worldwide," according to the company's press release.


Arvind Parthasarathi, who was previously with Informatica, will lead the new division as senior vice president and general manager. He offered no details about any new offerings in the pipeline.
