Chip Sales Rise in January

Global chip sales grew by 0.3 percent in January to $22.43 billion, an aberration since sales typically fall after the holidays, reports The Wall Street Journal.


The numbers reported by the Semiconductor Industry Association reflect an increase of 47 percent over that of a year ago.


Meanwhile, Gartner predicts a 20 percent increase in sales for the year, reaching $276 billion, according to CNET News.
