Apple Patents 'Logo Antenna'

Susan Hall

While it seemed that Apple got caught short with the whole "antennagate" episode earlier this year, then set out to hire a bunch of antenna engineers, maybe not.

The site Patently Apple has dug up an Apple patent for antennas that lie behind the company logo. It says "Apple's engineers were long at work on a new kind of antenna which Apple dubs the 'logo antenna'" for MacBooks and iPhones. (I have no idea how long "long at work" is.) The article also notes that the antenna can be made much smaller, opening up the possibility for use in items such as watches and pendants.
