Apple Awarded iPad Trademark

It looks like Fujitsu has lost its fight for the right to the iPad name. According to Computerworld, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has transferred the trademark on "IPAD" to Apple from Fujitsu Frontech North America.


When Apple introduced the iPhone in 2007, it encountered a similar roadblock with Cisco, who claimed rights to the name. Cisco threatened legal action, but a month later the companies reached an agreement under which both companies could use the name.
