Analysts: Cisco Systems' Quarterly Report to Show Steep Drop

Posted by Kachina Shaw Aug 5, 2009 1:05:59 PM

Analysts are expecting Cisco Systems to report today a 17 percent drop in revenue from the year-ago quarter, and a drop in earnings. Further, says, internetnews.com, they expect the following quarter to show a 17 percent drop in sales.

In this fiscal fourth-quarter report, says The Associated Press, some analysts are looking for evidence that demand is trending upward, and that Cisco has managed deep price discounts with cost containment measures and supply chain efficiencies. However, an ACI Research analyst tells Forbes today that unemployment rates will prevent Cisco from making much of a turnaround for some time.
