AMD Aims to Simplify PC Buying

AMD plans a new marketing campaign that will focus on the applications users can run with specific chips rather than technical specifications, reports Venture Beat.

 

Rather than marketing 22 categories of computers, AMD will now focus on three for mid-market consumers, such as those who shop at Best Buy: Vision Basic; Vision Premium, which are used to play digital media; and Vision Ultimate, which are used to create content.


AMD is to launch on Thursday its "Tigris" notebook platform and its second-generation ultrathin notebook platform, formerly named "Congo," according to PC Magazine.
