The Labor Department's report for July shows jobs in "computer systems design and related services" rose by 7,900 to 1,464,300.
In seasonally adjusted stats, that category delined by 3,400 in May and 600 in June. The July numbers also were up by 8,100 jobs from the month a year ago, according to The Register. The story is based on a press release by Foote Partners on its analysis of the labor statistics.
Meanwhile, in the Top 100 Online Work Index for August by contract hiring firm Elance, graphic design, PHP, MySQL, Adobe Flash and HTML are the hottest skills, reports internetnews.com. The skills showing the biggest growth in demand are Google Website Optimizer, RSS, Adobe Flex and Linux. Interestingly enough, the index shows a big drop in demand for Twitter expertise. Elance is largely used by IT and marketing managers.
