Michigan Adding Tech Jobs

Susan Hall

My colleague Don Tennant wrote that Detroit topped Dice.com's February list for cities with the fastest-growing IT job market. That was largely from being a small market experiencing some uptick, such as the automakers' plans to add more navigation and entertainment features in vehicles.

But Michigan also led the country in the Gallup Job Creation Index, thanks in part to its new status as a base for "green" manufacturing of products such as batteries and solar panels, according to The Michigan Messenger.

According to Dice, tech wages in Detroit still lag the national average by $7,000, but rose faster than the national average over the past year, reports The Detroit News.
