Buddy Media, which makes tools to help companies manage their social media efforts on sites such as Facebook, plans to hire 200 people in the next year after securing $54 million in new funding, FINS reports.


The New York City-based company will hire about 35 in engineering and product management, but it also is looking for front-end designers, database administrators, data analysts, user experience designers and engineers familiar with PHP, Python and Java. There are positions in sales, marketing and business operations as well. It also has an office in Phoenix and is considering opening a third, possibly in Austin, Texas, or Silicon Valley.


It's encouraging out-of-state workers to apply, offering to relocate the right candidates. The article says the company's cash compensation rivals Google's.
