AOL Begins Layoffs

AOL has begun carrying out the layoffs it announced in January. The company has said it will lay off 10 percent of its work force, about 700 people. They're being cut in Dulles, Va., New York and California, according to Silicon Alley Insider.


Kara Swisher at All Things Digital, however, said the cuts could go deeper as the company focuses on a three-pronged strategy: social networking and communications, content, and advertising.
