iPhone users concerned about identity theft and phishing attacks can check out VeriSign's VIP Access for Mobile application.
According to internetnews.com, the security app offers two-factor authentication and has already signed up over 40 Web sites as participating members, including eBay, PayPal and AOL. Fran Rosch, senior VP of product and strategy at VeriSign, says a beta service is in the works for Research in Motion's BlackBerry phone.
Middleware provider Charismathics plans to offer its identity protection application for the iPhone at the end of April. According to the company, the $9.99 iEnigma application will basically turn the iPhone or iPod Touch into a smart card that can secure access to a desktop or notebook computer.
