Trend Micro Site Hacked

Posted by Susan Hall Mar 14, 2008 3:35:07 PM

Antivirus vendor Trend Micro has confirmed that some pages on its site were hacked earlier this week, though it's not clear whether they were spewing attack code to unsuspecting visitors, reports Computerworld. The affected pages were removed from the site.

In an InformationWeek story, the company says its own investigation showed that the code redirecting users to sites that steal passwords didn't work.

According to McAfee, it appears to be part of a wider operation. It says almost 200,000 Web pages have been compromised in a little more than a week, notes ZDNet blogger Larry Dignan.
