Study: 1 in 6 PCs May be Infected

As many as1 in 6 PCs may be infected with malware or spyware, according to U.K. security vendor Prevx after a recent study of 300,000 personal computers.

 

These malicious programs are proliferating at 5,000 to 10,000 a day, reports PCWorld.com based on the Prevx study.

 

PCs with with no security software installed were 60 percent more likely to be infected that those running some sort of antivirus, anti-malware or other security program, it found.
