Phishers Target Facebook Again

Posted by Kara Reeder Apr 30, 2009 11:10:24 AM

Phishers are targeting Facebook users again in an effort to steal names and passwords.

Computerworld reports that scammers are sending users phoney e-mail messages that appear to be from a friend directing them to a malicious Web site, Fbaction.net, which looks like a Facebook login page. The Fbaction.net Web site is looking for login information; it does not attack the victim's computer.

A Facebook spokesman says the social network is working on blacklisting the domain.

Facebook is often a target of attackers. The social networking site has been hit by the Koobface worm several times. In February, a scam targeted the publicity surrounding the site's proposed new terms and conditions.
