New Mac Attack Unveiled at Black Hat

Posted by Kara Reeder Jul 30, 2009 12:19:31 PM

Researcher Dino Dai Zovi has unveiled a new Mac attack that allows hackers to gain control of OS X machines and steal data from them that is supposed to be encrypted, reports DailyTech.

According to redOrbit, the attack technique is being called “Machiavelli" and works only on machines that have already been hacked. As Zavi demonstrated at the Black Hat conference, the attack can be used to hijack Apple's Safari browser and use passwords for financial accounts and encrypted data on bank statements.
