Nebraska Man Receives Sentence for Scientology Attack

A Nebraska man who pled guilty to charges related to a January 2008 attack on websites of the Church of Scientology has been sentenced to a year in prison, according to an Associated Press" article on boston.com. Brian Thomas Mettenbrink has also been ordered to pay $20,000 in restitution.

 

Last October, Dmitriy Guzner, a member of an underground hacking group called Anonymous, also pled guilty to charges of hacking the Church of Scientology's website and agreed to pay a $37,500 fine. Guzner also is facing 10 years in prison for the online attacks.
