IBM Offers Virtualization Security

Posted by Kara Reeder Nov 16, 2009 11:22:32 AM

IBM's new Virtual Server Security product is designed to secure each layer of the infrastructure of a virtual server, reports InformationWeek.

The software is built for VMware's vSphere platform for data center virtualization. The offering secures everything from the hypervisor to the operating system to data traffic. The automatic protection features include control of network access from a virtual server, rootkit detection and prevention and virtual infrastructure monitoring and reporting, among other things.

The software is slated to be available next month.
