Google Releases Skipfish Security Scanner

In an effort to reduce online vulnerabilities, Google has introduced an open source automated Web security scanning program called skipfish, InformationWeek reports.

 

According to Help Net Security, skipfish carries out a recursive crawl and dictionary-based probes to generate an interactive site map for the targeted site. The report is meant to serve as a foundation for professional Web application security assessments.

 

Google says skipfish's key features are high speed, ease of use and cutting-edge security logic.
