Fugitive Spammer Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide

Posted by Ainsley Jones Jul 25, 2008 9:25:44 AM

Yesterday we reported that "spam king" Edward "Eddie" Davidson had escaped a minimum-security federal prison in Florence, Colo., and was still at large.

The bodies of Davidson, his wife and daughter were discovered in a vehicle in his hometown of Bennet, Colo., in an apparent murder-suicide, reports vnunet.com. An unharmed baby was also found in the vehicle, according to an Arapahoe County trooper.

Davidson, 35, had served just five months of a 21-month sentence for sending millions of fraudulent e-mails promoting penny stocks which he then traded when the price rose. It's estimated he made approximately $3 million before being caught.
