According to V3.co.uk, the world's first iPhone virus is now in the wild. The virus targets users who have jailbroken their phone.
The virus seems to be confined to Australia. It changes the user's wallpaper to a picture of former pop star Rick Astley along with the message "Ikee is never gonna give you up." Once in place, the worms looks for other vulnerable iPhones on the network, says Sophos.
Researchers say they have tracked the virus back to Ashley Towns, 21-year-old student from New South Wales. Towns says he released the worm because he found that most accessible iPhones he had tested were vulnerable because the passwords had not been changed.
Recently, another young hacker pointed out the insecurity of jailbroken devices when he sent an unsolicited and unremovable message to Dutch iPhone users.
