AVG Updates Free Tool that Scans Shortened URLs

According to CIO, AVG has updated its free LinkScanner Web tool, which scans shortened URLs for malicious content in real time. The update includes many new exploits that hackers use in such hostile URLs.

 

LinkScanner was first released in April and was welcomed by users of social networking sites like Twitter where posts have character limits. But such short URLs can be dangerous since they often do not show exactly where the link will take you.
