Attacker Uses Yahoo's HotJobs for Phishing

Posted by Kara Reeder Oct 28, 2008 11:29:00 AM

According to British network service firm Netcraft, someone has been launching phishing-based attacks using Yahoo's HotJobs site. Netcraft says the attacker has been using specially formatted JavaScript code to harvest stolen authentication details.

CNET News reports that Yahoo has fixed the problem, but is not commenting on how many people may have been affected by the cross-site scripting issue. Still, the company recommends that users change their passwords.

Yahoo has been quite the hot topic of late. First for slashing 1,500 jobs, and then for announcing a data center and a customer service center in Nebraska.
