New devices running Windows Phone 7 are selling out all over Europe, according to The Register. Orange, a UK carrier, has already sold out. To deal with demand, it is offering gift cards to HMV stores to people that pre-order a Windows Phone 7 device. HTC and Samsung are also selling out of the devices as fast they are shipping to the stores.
Microsoft claims that its Windows Phone 7 smartphones, which launch in the United States next week, are 20 percent more efficient than their rivals. An internal research group determined that tasks can be completed on WP7 devices with 20 percent fewer steps, says TechSpot News.
Demand, is not the only factor in devices selling out, however. A shortage of AMOLED screens and software has led to low initial shipments from Samsung and HTC respectively, reports TG Daily.
