Speaking at the Microsoft Developer Forum 2011 in Japan, Steve Ballmer confirmed the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango event tomorrow will be a launch event and added that the OS will boast more than 500 new features, Pocketnow reports. Expected features include multitasking, a new browser, as well as faster app switching, background processing and file transfer, notes Pocket-lint.

The event tomorrow will divulge carrier and OEM details. Ballmer's mention of carriers and OEMs suggests new Windows Phone devices could be announced tomorrow, if not in the very near future. Mango development tools will be released at the end of the week. In addition, Ballmer said Windows Phone will become more global, including having a presence in Japan, according to Business Insider.
