Posted by Ainsley Jones Nov 3, 2009 9:01:01 AM

Sony Ericsson says its first Google Android-based device, the Xperia X10, will go on sale early next year. Along with announcing the forthcoming device, Sony Ericsson also unveiled its new UX open platform.

IntoMobile provides a rundown of the Xperia X10's specs, which include quad-band GSM/EDGE connectivity, 4-inch capacitive touchscreen, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 3.5mm audio jack. The Xperia X10 is poised to ship with Android 1.6 rather than the already available Android 2.0, I4U News reports.
